The College of Chiropractic Orthopaedic Specialists (Canada) was sanctioned as an official body by the Canadian Chiropractic Association in October, 1994. Chiropractic orthopaedics is recognized as a specialty by the licensing bodies in Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Nova Scotia, P.E.I., and Newfoundland-Labrador.

Board mission

To assist the chiropractic profession as a consultant in the specialty of chiropractic orthopaedics.

To serve and promote the interests of chiropractic orthopaedics within the chiropractic profession, with other health care professions, with government agencies, with the insurance industry, with the legal profession, and with other industries.

To promote education programs and research which advance accurate neuromusculoskeletal diagnosis.

To advance the highest ethical standard of chiropractic orthopaedic management.

CCOS(C) empowers its members to be upholders of this mission statement.

Shift your role from treating clinician to objective medical expert.

Promote orthopaedics excellence, accuracy in orthopaedic diagnosis, as well as current orthopaedic treatment in the chiropractic profession in Canada.

Promote practical and/or clinical applications of orthopaedics in the chiropractic profession.

Promote teaching of chiropractic orthopaedics in the chiropractic profession.

Promote growth of chiropractic orthopaedics in the chiropractic profession.

Promote existing and future orthopaedic residency programs at CCE accredited colleges/universities, and/or a masters level program at a recognized university.

Promote the growth of CCOS(C) by encouraging the Canadian chiropractors who have passed a board examination in post graduate chiropractic orthopaedics to join our organization.
